Estimate an audiobook narration budget
Understand how manuscript length, speaking pace and revisions affect the credits you need.
Use the manuscript's actual length
For long-form work, a small error in average characters per word becomes material. The calculator's script option counts Unicode code points, including spaces and punctuation, as an estimate. Vendor billing can differ, so your account's metering remains authoritative.
Runtime is an assumption
The default speaking pace is a planning assumption that you can change. Dialogue, dramatic pauses, pronunciation and editing all affect the finished length. Credits are estimated from characters, not from that runtime.
Keep the billing period explicit
The calculator assumes the entire workload is generated within one monthly billing period. Splitting production across months changes subscription cost, and unused-credit or rollover rules are not modeled here.
Above the largest supported plan
If your workload exceeds the largest included allowance, the tool does not manufacture a quote. Ask the vendor about overages or custom pricing. This calculator deliberately excludes first-month offers and annual commitments.
